How OCM Started

We are not agents but work closely with numerous NFLPA, NBPA & FIBA agents.  Our clients have included NBA lottery picks, first-round NFL draft picks, FIBA MVPs, WNBA players, influencers, artists, and others.

Off-Court Management was founded in 2019 to provide tailored business management services to professional athletes & artists.  Over the past five years, and as the landscape for professional athletes & student-athletes has changed, largely due to the convergence of sports & entertainment, the emergence of Name Image Likeness (NIL), and the rapid growth of the collegiate transfer portals, we saw the need to expand our client offering.

To accommodate this new business environment in sports, at the pro and amateur levels, we have expanded our services by becoming active players in the NIL & portal arenas, bringing unique opportunities to clients in film and TV, both on the talent and production side, and in finding endorsement, ambassador, and equity opportunities that are aligned with our clients' brands and long-term goals.

It is our mantra, as per Wayne Gretzky, to “skate to where the puck is going to be, not where it has been.”

We hope you will step on the ice with us to see how we can be your partner in scoring your life’s goals, both on and off the rink.

A native of Shelby, NC, Dee Roze was a highly recruited high school basketball standout known for his prolific scoring.  His games drew legends such as David Thompson and Artis Gilmore. Johnson C. Smith University, an HBCU school, offered him a partial basketball scholarship. Due to life events and as faith would have it, he had to leave school and was offered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to follow another one of his passions, music, where he signed a multi-million-dollar record deal with Motown Records. As a producer, singer, and writer, he worked with artists including Akon, k-ci of Jodeci, Dru Hill, Tank, and others. While in music, Dee kept his passion for basketball continuing to expand his reach with high school players, coaches, and on the AAU & Eybl circuits. He formed his own AAU team, Alyve, that placed 3rd in their first national USBA tournament. Alyve enabled him to continue mentoring and guiding student athletes with their college recruitment process, so they could pursue their athletic and educational dreams. Much like the gifted potential he finds in others, he has an extreme talent for seeing what individuals have not yet seen in themselves. Dee’s positivity, authenticity, and selfless traits help him earn the trust of his clients, coaches at all levels, and basketball peers.  At OCM, he strives to build strong, long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with student-athletes, their families, and their centers of influence. Recently, Dee revived his music group, Metal Roze, and they are currently on tour with major R&B acts and are getting ready to release an album.  His personal experience with music royalties, publishing, and streaming media is invaluable.

JOHN NODILO

HEAD OF TV & FILM

John's life has been spent pursuing two things; sports and media, more specifically film and television. By walking this path, he's gained a great deal of knowledge about the intersection of those two worlds and how to maximize the unique skills built on the court and use those abilities to transition to film and television. It’s this firsthand knowledge that enables him to assist OCM clients trying to create a bridge from sports to entertainment. He's a dreamer, not in the flighty unrealistic sense, but rather as someone who believes anything is possible … if one can define and stick to a path, stick to the script, if you will. That's his goal with all clients; to define that course and stick with it over the long term given careers in media don’t happen overnight, they need to be built in specific, clearly defined stages step by step. As president and chief creative officer, of Cove Content, John oversees all film and television development as well as commercial production, while often writing and directing projects for both commercials and feature films. He has grown cove from being a successful independent film and TV company into a larger production company & ad agency with clients that include ABC, NBC, Disney, and Mattel. At OCM, he helps clients pursue their dreams, launch their brands, and tell their stories in their own words.
